The world said goodbye to a rock legend this week.

On July 30, fans gathered in Ozzy Osbourne’s hometown of Birmingham, England, for a public funeral procession that paid powerful tribute to the Prince of Darkness.

Just a week after his death on July 22, the streets were lined with mourners who came to celebrate the life and legacy of the iconic Black Sabbath frontman – some traveling from across the globe to do so.

Sharon Osbourne, joined by their children Aimee, Kelly, and Jack, as well as Ozzy’s son Louis, was visibly emotional as she laid flowers at the Black Sabbath Bridge bench on Broad Street, a site now overflowing with flowers, handwritten notes, balloons, and fan artwork.

Dressed in a simple black dress and gold chain, Sharon was moved to tears as she took in the sheer volume of love from the public. “Bless you,” she later commented on Instagram in response to a tribute from Gavin Rossdale, who praised Ozzy’s warmth and humor.

The tribute wasn’t just local. Fans around the world took to social media to honor the heavy metal icon, sharing concert memories, rare vinyl collections, and personal messages about how Ozzy’s music changed their lives. Kelly Osbourne honored her father by wearing his signature purple-tinted sunglasses, sharing on Instagram, “I am so sad.
