It all came down to this – five finalists, one stage, and a very unpredictable showdown to close out Season 27 of The Voice. While fan favorites had emerged and speculation had been swirling (thanks, TikTok theories), nothing could’ve prepared us for the curveballs the finale delivered.

First up? Renzo (Team Legend), who kicked things off with Lenny Kravitz’s “Fly Away.” While the energy was there and his chemistry with the light show was almost too good — the vibe felt more electric than effortless. Still, a solid opening that kept our attention.

Lucia Flores-Wiseman (Team Adam) brought the drama with her first song, Pink Floyd’s “Wish You Were Here.” It was haunting and vocally layered, but the song choice didn’t quite match the moment. Lucia has range, however, this pick didn’t let it shine the way we know it can.

Then came the presumed frontrunner: Jadyn Cree (Team Bublé). Her version of “Lose You to Love Me” felt more like a studio session in need of touch-ups than a live standout. Not her strongest showing and that sentiment only deepened later in the night.

Things took a turn when Jaelen Johnston, who famously earned a second chance via Super Save after being eliminated in the Playoffs, hit the stage with “What Was I Thinkin’.” And well... the title ended up being a bit too on the nose. Nerves got the best of him, and a lyric fumble turned into some hard-to-watch humming. Still, he pushed through — a tough moment, but not the end of his story.

That comeback energy showed up in full when Adam David stepped into the spotlight. His rendition of “You Are So Beautiful” was clean, emotional, and exactly what the night needed. Adam’s ability to keep it classic without losing feeling reminded everyone why he made it this far.

Lucia returned later with a showstopper — a bilingual cover of Billie Eilish’s “Wildflower” that was soulful, intentional, and genuinely moving. It was the kind of performance that makes you forget there’s even a competition happening.

Adam followed up with “Hard Fought Hallelujah,” a powerful pick that felt deeply personal. The gospel choir behind him amped up the emotion, though it slightly shifted the spotlight away from him. Beautiful? Yes. Enough to clinch the win? We weren’t sure.

Back to Jadyn, who tried to shake things up with “Come On Eileen.” And while the dancers went all out, the vocals didn’t quite keep up. The performance leaned heavy on nostalgia, but it lacked the spark that could’ve helped her recover from earlier missteps.

Renzo wrapped up his run with a cover of Jeff Buckley’s “Lover, You Should’ve Come Over,” and while he brought the intensity, it wasn’t the vocal showcase fans had been hoping for. Strong, yes — but maybe not strong enough in a stacked finale.

Then came Jaelen’s redemption round — and wow, did he rise. Closing his finale journey with “Cold,” he hit every note with purpose and left nothing on that stage. It was raw, emotional, and exactly the kind of full-circle moment reality finales are made for. One performance might not undo everything, but it definitely changed the conversation.

So who took the crown? That’s up to the votes. If this finale proved anything, it’s that a comeback story can steal the spotlight, a perfect ballad can shift the momentum, and no one’s ever fully out until the last note hits.
