Another week, more releases from today's exciting new voices!
This week’s New Music Friday brings a broad spectrum of new releases across genres, showcasing some of today’s most exciting voices!
Chappell Roan debuts the highly anticipated studio version of “The Subway,” Anne Wilson introduces her God Story EP, and Bailey Zimmerman offers a surprise drop with “Chevy Silverado” just before his album arrives. The mix also includes full-length projects from Reneé Rapp and Zandi Holup, new singles from HARDY, Charlotte Sands, Russell Dickerson, and collaborations like Colbie Caillat with Maddie & Tae—proof that the summer release schedule is just heating up.
“The Subway” - Chappell Roan
The most buzzed-about release this week comes from Chappell Roan, who has finally unveiled the studio version of “The Subway” after fans fell in love with the song during her live debut at Governors Ball last summer. Produced by Daniel Nigro, the track paints a dreamy yet gritty portrait of New York City—the place where hearts are broken, healed, and inspired daily. In the new video, directed by Amber Grace Johnson, Roan takes viewers on a surreal journey through the city streets, blending fantasy and reality as only she can.
PLATINUM-certified and GRAMMY-nominated singer-songwriter Anne Wilson shares a heartfelt new four-track project with her God Story EP. Anchored by its soaring title track, the EP moves from the powerful “’Til The Road Runs Out” to the bold “Devil Is Too” and closes with the vulnerable “Twenty Three.” The release coincides with Wilson’s run opening stadium dates on Morgan Wallen’s I’m The Problem Tour and marks the beginning of a deeply personal new season of music.
“Chevy Silverado” - Bailey Zimmerman
Country powerhouse Bailey Zimmerman knows how to surprise his fans, and today he did just that with the release of “Chevy Silverado,” an unexpected new single that shows off his signature mix of grit and vulnerability. It’s a sneak peek at his upcoming sophomore album Different Night Same Rodeo, due out August 8 on Atlantic Records/Warner Music Nashville. With its vivid imagery, small-town grit, and irresistible chorus, “Chevy Silverado” reminds listeners why Zimmerman has quickly become one of the genre’s biggest new names.
“Later Tonight” (Official Music Video) - Josh Ross
Rising star Josh Ross takes fans on an unforgettable ride in the brand-new video for “Later Tonight,” which plays out like a late-night short film set in rural California. The video finds Ross waking up face-down in the desert and piecing together a hazy series of memories: a lonely gas station, poker games with strangers, spontaneous singalongs with a mariachi band, and a fast-burning connection with someone who catches his eye. Between cinematic wide shots and fast-moving cuts, Ross’s dirt bike—his real-life passion—becomes as much a character in the story as he is.
“No More” - Maddox Batson
Fifteen-year-old Maddox Batson proves that age is just a number with “No More,” a new single that finds the Alabama-born, Nashville-based singer stepping into his own as a powerful new voice in country. Co-written with Johnny Simpson and Josh Dorr, the track builds from a slow, tender opening into a hook-heavy chorus full of defiance. It’s a song about self-worth, resilience, and the kind of moment where you realize you deserve better. Paired with a moody and emotional video, “No More” is Batson at his most honest yet.
“The Thing About Us” - Kaylee Bell
Kaylee Bell is ready to start a new chapter with her forthcoming album Cowboy Up, and the first taste comes with “The Thing About Us.” It’s a sunny, feel-good track about finding love that feels certain and safe—a love that doesn’t come with games, confusion, or doubt. The single gives fans a clear idea of what to expect from Cowboy Up (arriving September 26): a bold and personal collection of songs that cover the highs and lows of love, the strength it takes to move forward, and even the new chapter of her own life as a mother.
“Bottomland” - HARDY
HARDY’s next chapter kicks off today with “Bottomland,” a striking track that blends his signature rock-and-roll edge with rootsy, heartfelt lyrics. The song is the latest preview from his upcoming album COUNTRY! COUNTRY! due September 26 via Big Loud. With heavy guitars and an unapologetic country feel, “Bottomland” finds HARDY leaning into the duality of his sound like never before.
Wildflower (Album) - Zandi Holup
If you’re looking for a debut that feels like a breath of fresh air, Zandi Holup’s Wildflower is here to deliver. The 11-track album, produced by Ryan Hadlock (Zach Bryan, Wyatt Flores), weaves together poetic lyrics, stripped-back instrumentation, and confessional storytelling. Every track feels like a chapter from a personal journal, full of fable-like narratives and truths that stick with you long after the music fades.
“Hold You To It” - Timmy McKeever
Say hello to Timmy McKeever, the newest signee to Big Loud Records, who makes a memorable first impression with his label debut “Hold You To It.” The track is an adrenaline rush—flirty, fast-paced, and full of late-night chemistry—perfect for anyone who loves a good hook and a little bit of chaos in their love songs.
“Lonely Season”- Connor Hicks
“Lonely Season” is Connor Hicks’s most personal release to date, capturing that disorienting time after a heartbreak when the silence feels loud, the routines feel strange, and you’re left with nothing but your own thoughts. With gentle delivery and striking honesty, Hicks turns loneliness into something deeply relatable.
“Ozark Mountain Night” (Official Music Video) - Nathan Applegate
Nathan Applegate takes his listeners straight into the heart of the Ozarks with the video for “Ozark Mountain Night,” a cinematic tribute to the place that raised him. Shot entirely with local friends, family, and neighbors, it’s a grassroots production that captures the beauty and authenticity of his small-town world.
BITE ME (Album) - Reneé Rapp
Reneé Rapp continues her unstoppable run with BITE ME, her second studio album, which delivers twelve unfiltered, fearless tracks about finding yourself, setting boundaries, and embracing vulnerability. With highlights like “Mad” and “Leave Me Alone,” it’s an album that invites listeners to join Rapp’s growing community of unapologetic self-expression.
“Live Without” - Colbie Caillat feat. Maddie & Tae
Colbie Caillat teams up with Maddie & Tae for “Live Without,” a track that turns heartbreak into something hopeful. With a breezy melody and lyrics that balance sadness with optimism, this collaboration is pure sunshine with a touch of Nashville sparkle.
“neckdeep” - Charlotte Sands
Charlotte Sands is rewriting the rules for summer with “neckdeep,” an explosive track that blends hyperpop, punk, and alt-rock into something fresh and fun. This one is full of big emotions and even bigger energy—a cathartic scream that you can dance to.
“Worth Your Wild” - Russell Dickerson
Russell Dickerson brings us a warm-weather anthem in “Worth Your Wild,” a playful, romantic song that turns impulsive connections into something unforgettable. It’s charming, catchy, and just plain fun.
“Good and Gone” - TracieLynn
Ending this week on a powerful note, TracieLynn releases “Good and Gone,” a moody slow-burn that builds into an empowering release. It’s a song for anyone who’s ever hit their breaking point and finally found the courage to move on.
Sunny Sweeney returns to her roots with Rhinestone Requiem, a record that pairs sparkling, classic country vibes with raw honesty. It’s a honky-tonk journey through resilience, heartbreak, and healing.
