Get your dirty sodas ready—#MomTok is back May 15.
The cast of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has weathered emotional breakdowns, crumbling friendships, and public scrutiny – but are they ready for round two? Hulu officially announced in March that the hit docuseries will return for a second season, premiering Thursday, May 15, 2025.
After its breakout debut in September 2024, the unscripted series quickly captivated audiences with its candid portrayal of #MomTok—featuring Taylor Frankie Paul, Whitney Leavitt, Jen Affleck, Demi Engemann, Mikayla Matthews, Mayci Neeley, Jessi Ngatikaura, and Layla Taylor. Season 1 followed these Mormon influencers through the fallout of a headline-grabbing "soft swinging" scandal, and the emotional toll it took on their marriages, friendships, and personal lives.
In Season 2, all eight women return, along with a headline-making new cast member: Miranda McWhorter.
Though Miranda was a central figure in the original #MomTok drama, she was noticeably absent from Season 1. That changes in Season 2, as confirmed in Hulu’s April 22 extended trailer. The teaser shows Miranda making a jaw-dropping entrance at a group outing – cowboy hat, cutoff shorts, and all – sparking gasps from the women. “Is that Miranda?” one says, stunned.
The tension is palpable. Jessi refers to Miranda as “Taylor’s ex-best friend” as the group struggles to process her return.
Miranda had previously distanced herself from filming, citing discomfort with how the story might be told and unresolved tensions with Taylor. In an August 2024 episode of The Weekly Trash podcast, she revealed that both she and fellow influencer Camille Mundy initially declined to join the show. Miranda also pushed back on Taylor’s accusations that she negotiated conditional terms to appear—later releasing texts that showed she had hesitations about the show's direction, not demands.

Miranda was previously married to Chase McWhorter, whom she began dating shortly after graduating high school. The couple married in 2017, shortly after Chase returned from his LDS mission. They share two sons and while their romantic relationship ended in August 2024, they remain committed co-parents.
Their names were first dragged into the swinging scandal in 2022, when Taylor Frankie Paul revealed a soft-swinging arrangement involving several couples in their friend circle. Though Miranda and Chase initially denied any involvement, Chase later clarified in an interview with Us Weekly that they participated in lighthearted games at social gatherings during COVID lockdowns, but pushed back against the way Taylor framed their actions.
The trailer teases plenty more drama beyond Miranda’s return. Whitney Leavitt, still at odds with the group, appears unsure of her place. “They’re holding grudges, and I don’t even understand why,” she says. Taylor is seen in a fiery exchange with boyfriend Dakota Mortensen, while Jen Affleck shares a tense moment with husband Zac Affleck, who asks for a hug and gets a handshake instead. There’s also a dramatic altercation between two men, requiring police involvement, and a toast from Mayci that sums it all up: “MomTok survives.”
Adding even more intrigue, Jen, Mikayla, and Mayci are all pregnant during filming, which may add a new layer of vulnerability to their stories.

With 10 episodes promised, Season 2 is poised to go deeper than ever into the highs, lows, and contradictions of modern Mormon motherhood. Between reconciliation attempts, lingering resentment, and fresh scandals, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is about to deliver its most dramatic season yet.
Tune in when Season 2 premieres on Hulu on May 15, 2025.
